The Stanbrook was the British coal ship that carried on the last evacuation of Republican refugees from the Alicante harbour on March 28th 1939, four days before the end of the Spanish Civil War.
Stanbrook Productions was stablished with the same rebel spirit with which Archibald Dickson, captain of that ship, defied the orders of the ship's owner and rescued thousands of people from a sure death under fascist repression. Our name is an homage to both, the young brave British captain who saved thousands of innocent lives, and to those Spanish republicans who fought so hard against intolerance and fascism. Eighty years later, this fight is still as necessary as then.
Stanbrook productions compiles its founder's Vicent Monsonís professional career, wich spans over 20 years of creation, development and production of audiovisual content (fiction, documentary and animation).
London, 1593. Christopher Marlowe, the most talented and successful playwright in England is going to be murdered. Only William Shakespeare can save his life, but he won’t do it for nothing.
A Circle in the Water is a historic thriller featuring William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe. It’s based on the lifelong theory that insists upon the unlikeliness that someone with barely any formation could write the masterpieces attributed to William Shakespeare. Only someone highly prepared, who’d studied the classics and had solid skills as a playwright could have done it.
That was none other than Christopher Marlowe.
The hidden truth behind a glorious name
